April 18!  A fortnight since I came back from Nirma with the hard earned degree which looked good with a Golden Folder and a black and white photograph of the NIM entrance gate. This precious piece of paper is the ticket which takes me and all those who were there in the campus on the night of April 3rd inside the corporate world of India.
For me that journey starts in about 10 days so i can relax.I will leave it here as there is another one to discussed.
Mr Arindam Burman was in town for three days.He is a friend from Nirma who had come from Calcutta sorry Kolkata to spend sometime. We had planned out a trip to somewhere out deep in the forests of Chhattisgarh .
It was decided that we would go to a place called Soopkhar a place situated in the buffer areas of Kanha National Park.
It was good beggining to the trip as we had hit the road at 7 am in the morning of 18th as decided. When we were leaving we just knew that we are going to this place which is at a distance of 200 odd kms. However we had not exactly planned anything else.Perhaps that brought us some pleasant surprises.
The first stop was at a place called Kabirdham or initially called Kawardha, one of the kingdoms of this state in the ancient times. The stop allowed us to take a heavy breakfast as we knew that we won’t be getting much to eat after that, apart from some spurious brands of some well known biscuits.
16 kms frm Kabirdham is a temple called Bhoramdev temple. Its a temple supposedly built in the 10th century .It looked like one.The quality with which the stones were carved out into various forms of gods and goddesses was stupendous.I have rarely seen such fine art .
Of course it was a place with great history and legends attached to it .It surely is a discovery channel destination.
After spending an hour at the temple we left for the next stop called Chilphi.Actually there was nothing to see over there,It was just a stop where we could have taken our lunch if we wanted to .We were there in an hour. The forest inspection hut had a beautiful setting . It a was on a small hill and was surrounded by tall tress. It was about 12 noon and still we did not feel hot over there. The weather was beautiful over there .The lunch was cancelled as none of us felt like eating and so went on to the destination we had decided Soopkhar.
To reach Soopkhar we had to cross the border of MP and Chhattisgarh. We could make out when we entered MP .It is so different there .This state just doesnt believe in making roads. The average speed of our vehicle which was an impressive Hyundai Tucson came down from 80km/h to 40 km/h.However it was not a suprise to us.By 2.00 pm we were able to reach Soopkhar. We stopped at the rest house which was constructed in 1930.Guess what the roof of this one was made of.It was made of straw and grass. It simply looked amazing.
Now onwards we had no plans. But we still had a lot of time. One of the officials said that we can take a safari at Kanha which was not far away.So we decided to go ahead. It took us another hour to reach one of th entrances of Kanha National Park called Mukki Gate.To clarify Mukki is one of the mountain ranges over there and it has got nothing to do with our own Mr Mukesh Gupta or dearest Mukki .
So we were there at the Mukki Gate at 3.30 .But we were told that the safari did not begin before 5 pm.That meant a wait of 90 minutes .But that wait was worth as we had a safari we none of us would forget.

The safari will be there in the next post as for time does not allow me write .I also expect to have the photographs by the next post.

By the way
